The Knights came into a Tuesday night game against Poudre riding a 13 game win streak. After final buzzer the streak extended to 14 in a row, as the Knights came away with 67-58 win.
Fairview struggled in the first half. They were outscored in the first quarter 14-11 and followed that up with only 14 points in the second. The Knights went into half down by one. This was only the second time in league play the boys have been losing at halftime.
Foul trouble hampered the Knights in the opening half, as Shane O’Neill, Holden Killeen and Jacob Lorentzen all sat a majority of the second quarter in the bench with two fouls each.
The second half was a different story. The Knights roared out of the locker room going on a 19-3 run to start the half. The scoring was led by Junior Guard, Brent Wrapp. Who had 17 in the game and 11 of them coming in the third quarter. Jay Arehart also added eight of his 10 points in the 3rd.
The Knights seemed to be cruising along after the third as they were up by 19 at one point. However Poudre had a little run of their own cutting the lead down 5 late in the 4th. The Knights snapped back into it and stout defense and a couple late buckets, including a dunk from Lorentzen propelled Fairview to a 9 point victory.
The next game for the Knights comes against Greeley West on the road this Thursday. The Knights have two more games until their showdown against Fossil Ridge early next week. A game which will probably crown the conference winner.
