Fairview boys basketball dominated Mountain Range Friday night, using their strong team dynamic to wear out the Mustang defense. The Knights maintained a safe lead throughout the entire game, ultimately coming out on top with a 65-41 victory.

Fairview started the game strong, getting fast-break points and undermining Mountain Range’s confidence as they took control, gaining a four point lead early in game.

Senior forward Shane O’Neill lead the Knights into the second quarter with rebounds, pushing forward for a 26-18 lead.  Fairview earned a total of 18 turnovers and kept the lead with an 11-0 run, increasing the score t0 37-21 at the end of the half.

The Knights left no holes in their defense, leaving limited opportunities for the Mustangs to gain the advantage. Senior Caleb Pykkonen helped the Knights pick up momentum again in the third quarter, finding breaks in the Mustangs’ defense and scoring three-pointers to maintain the lead. Gaining another 14 turnovers in the second half, Fairview pushed ahead, kept their energy up and forced the score board higher until the very end.

In the end, the Knights were too much for the Mountain Range Mustangs. Ending strong, Fairview adding another win to their now eight-game streak. They face Monarch this Tuesday in an away game at 6:30 pm in what should be an easy win.
