The Avengers takes audiences by storm
“The Avengers,” directed by Joss Whedon, was released in theatres on May 3rd and is breaking box office records. It ranks as number two behind Mission Impossible 4 for number of admissions in a week. Speculations have been made that the movie has raised more than half a billion dollars in just five days.
The plot is based on six Marvel superheroes and their defeat of Loki when he threatens the world’s safety. The well known superheroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow work together with Nick Fury, the director of a peacekeeping agency, to protect the world from imminent danger.
“The cast was perfect,” says senior Jonah Crespi of the actors that made the story come alive. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson played noteworthy parts in the film. Several of these actors previously played the same role in movies solely based on one superhero such as “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man,” and “Thor.”
“The Avengers” may seem like it would only appeal to those who religiously attend movies of the same content, but that is not the case. Crespi, who saw the movie on a whim, says, “I would recommend it to everyone.” He also says he would rank the movie a ten out of ten in comparison to all of the films that he has seen.
“The Avengers” is currently in theatres and attracts huge crowds every day. Pre-order tickets are available on Fandango and several other sites online. Purchasing your ticket prior to showtime is crucial due to the movie’s popularity. “If you haven’t already seen (The Avengers) go see it as soon as possible,” says Crespi.
