For all you Nicholas Sparks fans who read his book, The Lucky One, prepare to be disappointed with the movie version that came to theaters on April 20th. While this movie follows the basic plot of the book, it lacks the sensitive, tear-jerking edge that is a trademark of all Nicholas Sparks movies.

The Lucky One is about a marine, Logan, who finds a photograph while on duty. After asking a multitude of people whether it belonged to them, he decides to keep the photograph with him in his pocket. This photograph ends up saving his life several times while on duty when he really should not have survived.

With the advice of his best friend who he later loses before his eyes, he sets off on a journey to walk across the country from Colorado to Louisiana to find the woman in the picture. After finding the woman, he starts working at the kennel she runs with her Grandmother and becomes wrapped up in her and her life.

The stars Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling who play Logan and Beth, respectively, are perhaps the highlight of the movie as Efron brings his good looks and charm while Schilling brings a fresh face and strong chemistry with Efron to the screen.

This movie is definitely worth seeing, but set your expectations lower if you have already read the book.
